Carson Blackwelder is a Nashville-based entertainment journalist, with experience in reporting, editing, and writing.

Carson, most recently, spent five years at Good Morning America (America’s No. 1 morning show) and ABC News (America’s No. 1 news source), covering film, television, music and celebrity news. He has reported on major awards shows, high-profile legal matters in Hollywood, and junkets with A-list talent.

Carson previously worked for Closer Weekly, A Plus, and Wetpaint. As a freelance journalist, he has contributed to outlets including IMDb.com, Country Living, InStyle, Shondaland.com, Epicurious and more.

Carson’s internships have included TV Guide Magazine as part of the ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors) program, Our State, and working alongside Scott Feinberg, lead awards analyst for The Hollywood Reporter.

Carson is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate with a B.A. in both Journalism (specialization in reporting) and English literature. He served as the arts editor of The Daily Tar Heel and was the co-president of CAFME (Carolina Association of Future Magazine Editors) — his university’s chapter of Ed2010.
